Confirmation

Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation
Monday, May 01, 2017
7:00 pm - Cathedral of Saint Paul

The Sacrament of Confirmation is a celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given to us in a personal way as a Sacrament of Initiation. The Holy Spirit comes to us and empowers us to bear witness to Christ by what we say, what we do, and to help us make good choices as a disciple of Jesus. Our hope is that the process of Confirmation permeates that gift of the Holy Spirit in each Confirmand. The catechism of the Catholic Church says Confirmation roots us more deeply as children of God the Father, it unites us more firmly to Christ, and it increases the gifts of the Spirit within us.It renders our bond with the Church more perfect, and it gives us a special strength to spread and defend our faith. Confirmation should make you feel more a part of the Church!
